For FSX and FS9 there is a powerful little tool available in German language called FlusiFix. While translating it into English (so it can be made available to those of you who don't speak German too well), I came accross the possibility to add a radar to FSX aircraft.

This is will be achieved by taking the multiplayer tower radar and put it as a new window into any panel. My trials with it show that the radar will depict all AI-traffic with its relevant information but, strangely enough, I could not get it to show the multiplayer traffic!

Anyway,
I used the Caribou as a testbed and these are the changes the tool makes to the panel.cfg:

[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panel
Window01=Autopilot
Window02=Radio Panel
Window03=GPS
Window04=Switches Panel
Window05=FF_Radar

...

[Window05]
Size_mm= 878, 618
Window_Size= 0.6, 0.6
Position= 4
Background_Color= 1, 1, 1
Visible= 0
Ident= 5672
gauge00= radar!radarscreen, 254, 22, 610, 584
gauge01= radar!information, 13, 518, 228, 87
gauge02= radar!session_info, 13, 220, 228, 307
gauge03= radar!radar_settings, 13, 0, 228, 230
gauge04= ff_gauges!ff_radar_back, 0, 0
draw_order00= gauge00, gauge01, gauge02, gauge03, gauge04

The WINDOW-number would need to be adapted if you changed the panel yourself before. The radar can be called up using shift+5

Once the tool is ready for use it will be posted here.

Regards
