PostForum: Artillery Forum   Posted: Wed Jun 22, 2016 12:19 am   Subject: 7,5cm Kanone 1881 Krupp may be Dutch?
I have recently gotten a 7,5cm Kanone 1881 export gun and today a friend emailed me a technical drawing that appears to show this gun's barrel and breech block.

This is the link for the web page ...

I did not remember the 65mm St Chamond had soft recoil. Thanks for making the point.

On another note, I sure wish the 70mm St Chamond 1913 Mountain Howitzers exported to Congo and Guat ...

Soft Recoil was also used in the design of the French 65mm Schneider Modèle 1906. I believe this was the first artillery piece to use the soft recoil principle. That I know of, it is the only artill ...

The howitzer on the Flicker marked as German 10,5cm leFH16 in NE, is a much larger German 15cm lg.sFH 1913. If you look at my web site you will see the difference:

I was talking with the folks at the Artillery Museum at Ft Sill today and asked about the 4.5 inch guns that were at Aiming Circle Hill. The answer is that they are still at Ft Sill. Just a year ag ...

The tube is not out of battery. It is a 15cm sFH 1913 (In the Wikipedia article). That is the correct tube length.

The 15cm lg,sFH 1913 has the long barrel. It is the 15cm lg.sFH 13 in Jackson ...

Thanks for posting these. The 10cm Kanone 1917, 15cm sFH 1902, and the 15cm Kanone are of great interest to me.

Number 6 is the German 10cm Kanone 1917. I have one of these in my collection:

The Oak Ridge 3-Inch M 1902 is not pictured with a Caisson. This is a Limber. A Caisson is only towed behind limbers and is the main ammunition carrier for the field piece. A limber is what the six ...

Thanks for posting these mountain Howitzer photos.

The Krupp 7,5cm Gebirgskanone is very similar to my Chilean Krupp 7,5cm Gebirgskanone L/13:

By the way, the eight 4.5 inch guns at Fort Sill are out at Aiming Circle Hill near the "High Rise" buildings. They are not at the museum site.
