Bila Tserkva T34-85 monument
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Only dogs are visible by the first link :-))).

It seems to me, this is a war-time 34-85. Turret made by 183th plant (UVZ).
Was modernized by "1960" program.

Woof!
It's the "Tank Gates Aexandriya park" link.

Big photo, the plaque says something about Czechoslovakian Brigade, 4th September (?) 1944 and German-Fascists.
(I took Russian at school, but that was over 30 years ago!)

"VOINAM RADYASKOI ARMII TA CHEKOSLOVASKOI BRIGADI YAKI 4 SICHIYA 1944 ROKOO ZVILNILI MISTO VILOO TSERKVOO VID NIMNYESTKOO FASHISTSKIX ZAGARBNIKIV"

Note

In 2010 the Ukrainian government issued an official conversion table between the Ukrainian cyrillic and English alphabet - see www.glebov.com.ua/en/a...ation.html

According to this table, I would like to submit a transfer of the original text:
Voyinam Radyans'koyi Armiyi ta Czekhoslovats'koyi bryhady. Yaki 4 sicznya 1944 roku zvil'nyly misto Bilu Tserkvu vid nimets'ko-fashysts'kykh zaharbnykiv.

9 travnya 1970 roku

Free translation and note in parentheses:
For soldier of the Soviet Army and the Czechoslovak Brigade. Who 4 January 1944 was liberated city Bila Tserkva (the city's name probably originated by the white-painted church, or an entire village) from German fascist usurpers.

9 May 1970 (date of establishment of the monument)

It seems to me the hull is also made by 183th plant...
This is Ukranian language, not Russian...

Dear Sirs,
I asked for help a colleague who specializes in Soviet tanks T-34 (on the subject published a book).

His present to answer:
"This is a T-34/85 production fall 1944 to spring 1945. She still has a distinct contact of frontal plates. In the spring started to boil boards together.

The tower was built in Plant No. 183 Nizhny Tagil.

The tank was not renovated in the 60th years! This means that it has no wheels like T-54/55, a metal rectangular box and lid with embossed "X". Tank is on the right side non-standard fixing two shovels. On the right is a console lamp. T-34 tanks have these things on the left side.

The hull is Ural production. Interesting hinges are at the rear armor plate, these are not produced in a factory in Nizhny Tagil. The fuselage reminds products of the Plant No. 174 Omsk."

A colleague has a suspicion that the tank was assembled from several parts of different vehicles. Therefore not able to determine whether the tank from Omsk, or Nizhny Tagil.

Note:
Wings and things like that can be easily manufactured and mobile services' workshop.

8-0

If we looking at the photo:
www.flickr.com/photos/...168939236/
we can see 1 "like T-54 wheel" and a "metal rectangular box".

???

Dear Colleague,
thanks for the link on the photo left side of the tank T-34-85, which was unknown to us.

Sorry,
that we have provided incorrect information to who covered the modernization in the 60th years.

Dear Sirs,
present to supplement the previous information.

My colleague who specializes in T-34 wrote:

"Travelling wheel
Wheel type T-54/55 is the only one on the left rear side. On the right side of the rear wheel is cast steel. Other bikes look like the original.

Holders
On the left side of the box with the X embossed on the lid are placed in unexpected places holders for small tanks or smoke MDSh.

On the right side of the front armor of the console is likely to mount an IR headlight."

Summary
It's certainly not the modernization of the sixties, it is rather confused idea Soviet politruk (Political commissar) of the tank as it appeared in 1944.

Repair 21 September 2011

I do not understand the phrase about Soviet politruk...
Can anybody explain, what does it means?
