Interesting stuff near Eglin AFB - Google
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hi All,

Someone posted these coordinates on a warbird site and I thought it might be of interest here. LOTS of neat stuff,

Go to: 30 30' 01.43"N 86 18' 39.33"W on Google Maps and engage satellite view OR hit this link and zoom in:

I don't get anything at the first link, but the second one seems to be some M60's, M113's and couple of M107's.

If the link doesn't work try going to:
30 30' 01.43"N 86 18' 39.33"W on Google Maps Satellite view and zooming in.

Here's a few screen shots of the area covered by the first link.

Posted them to my Smug Mug site:

I believe a lot of different weapon systems are tested there, and at Hurlburt nearby. These may be vehicles for testing and being held in a storage yard, or USAF sold them to a local collector.

It looks like there are 2 SCUD launchers in the second picture.

Paul, if you could email me the pictures, I could circle my conclusions in paint.

Next to the rocket sled test track there are enormous blocks of concrete that have been center punched by high velocity projectiles.

Interesting, I thought I noticed some BMPs in the picture VMMV and it seemed like the tanks in the picture were Soviet.
