What in gods name is this!!!
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Something i did not know until today: the Mini-Moke was originally designed to meet a requirement of the British Armed Forces for a small, air-transportable pernonnel carrier, circa 1963. Based, obviously, on the original Austin Mini. It was never adopted, though. Low ground clearance appears to have been the issue. Here is a military moke (NOT heavilly armed).

Any possibility the vehicle Sgt. Button posted is Cuban? I know a lot of Mokes ended up there.

Reminds me of the Mighty Mite, which was developed off the Jeep to be carried by USMC helicopters.

I knew about the "Mini-Moke" because it was featured as a civvie vehicle in my 1966 issue (or thereabouts) of Motor Trend. It was envisioned as a sort of urban/beach "jeep" for resort areas, tropical islands, stuff like that.
It would have been suicide on 'Murican highways....

The regular Mini was no joy on Canadian highways, i can assure you. Being smaller than a lot of the potholes playing a big role of that.....

A friend of mine had one. Handled like a dream, but it was rather alarming to look *up* at Pintos, VWs, dogs.....
