"Gutsy"might be one word for it, or just plain "stupid" might be another, haha. I might be guilty of just such stupidity. When you have a driver you trust, good equipment you trust, and terrain you know and trust, you can be pretty "confident" in your actions. I have been guilty of such actions when I felt "confident" that I was in control. Albeit, it was in an M106 or M1064, and not a tank, the landing can still be quite harsh. Once when cruiseing across Kuwait desert, we launched out M106 off of a dune in 1994,(didn't see the dune till to late) and I ate my 50cal while TCing. While I let out a "ya-hoo" while airborne, I stiffeled a grunt as I came down on the 50 cal. Funny how an armored vehicle makes you feel invinsible one minute, and in pain the next.
