Ford G917 Truck use in Poland 1939-1940?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Ford G917 Truck use in Poland 1939-1940?
Thought I'd ask the best informed AFv group to be found to make sure before making a big mistake. Would it be appropriate for a Ford G917 Truck to have been in use in Poland during the 1939=1940 timeframe? From what little I've been able to garner from the web, the truck was manufacturered in Germany from the US license? Thanks in advance for any clarifications, MK

MK,

the G917T was built from 1939 on (G=Germany, 9= model year 1939, 1= 3.6l engine, 7= model, T= truck), so conceivably should have been available for the campaign in Poland.
