Camp Mabry M56 Scorpion....
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Camp Mabry M56 Scorpion....

I was at Camp Mabry today with the family for the WWII reinactment which was great. Once it was over I walked around the museum and found this M56 Scorpion. I've never seen one of these before and was not familiar with it. The M88, 90mm gun had a data plate with a 1959 date and there is also a shot of the data plate that was on the inside rear hull area. This vehicle had no eng/trans, and no information board. Does anyone know much about these? The hull reminded me of the Ontos.

Isn't that one of the T101 preseries/prototypes?

Neil, I'm about to post all the vehicles and their information shortly. While the family ate our picnic lunch, I told them to take their time because I was going to walk the outdoor exhibits and record all the vehicle makes and serial numbers if I could find them. I took pictures of most everything as well but some items I didn't.
