Tried posting this in the Aircraft Team forum but I don't have permission.....but it's a simple request and here goes......

Fr8ycat and I are wrapping up a project and the first part will be imminently released VERY soon. This is a fine little helo for FS9 and the release candidate is sitting on a download server wrapped up nice and cozy in a self-installer with a readme. We're looking for one or two qualified FS9 helo pilots who have a few moments for downloading the 6MB ZIP file, opening it, checking the readme, running the self-installer, and taking her out for a spin (in 4 different paint versions) and just giving it the general once-over.

Sound enticing? Send ol' Stoop a PM and I'll getcha the link......she's a little sweatheart to fly, too, yeah buddy tell yoo whut.......

Ahhhh...we have two responses now, very good...Thank you, jo_wingnut and Ascout!

It's been pretty well tested and all (after these months, take our word on it LOL) , this is just a dry-run on installation and flight. Your responses and results are appreciated in advance, looking forward to your feedback here so fr8ycat can rest easy about one more thing and release this little sexpot of a helo!

You may want to try listing it as a [Project] in the Reviews forum... Wink

But, of the one's that did respond, ....

Well, not too late really.....

Kitform, check your PM, if you meant you were too late to help check this project out. Another set of eyes can't hurt, thanks!

Otherwise, if you meant you were too late to remind me there are better places to put this post, I sure don't mind it being moved......I signed up for the Aircraft Team forum now that I finally read the instructions......I'm one of those people who read instructions only when it's too late.....my apologies.

Me, too....that's why I was grateful for the autoinstaller! Laughing

Thanks Stoopy got your PM.

Well Ascout gets a cookie for finding something - so this is a heads-up about a possible pending update.

Essentially the problem he noted was the Turbine Speed / RPM gauge to the left of the HSI (Compass) wasn't working. Turns out the Master On/Off switch has to be on, and also turns out this is a non-stock gauge switch that few of you may have. Comes from some P-38F release somewhere. So if you have just two switches (Avionics and red Fuel Valve switch) at the bottom-right of the 2D panel with a gap in between them, you should have three, third one in the middle, and it's because the installer is missing this file.

As soon as Ascout confirms the fix (what a guy) I'll update the install package for another go and notify you here. Thanks all, very much, and I consider this a success in that something was found - this is exactly why we test!

Thanks for your time and assistance very much!

Yea, didn't think about the gauges. Long story short when I made the panel in FS Panel it gives me gauge options that are in my FS gauge folder. Needless to say if you dont have or have downloaded aircraft that came with gauges other than default FS gauges than you might not have them. I might have to gather up the gauges used for the OH6 panels and have Stoopy include them in the installer.

I also noticed that the Main Rotor Blur doesn't show from the VC which I will correct.

Check! Just to be sure I walked through the file list for your previous Army OH-6 release and we look good to go other than any gauge files which aren't in that ZIP either so we'll stand by.

Dang fine catch by Ascout. She's gonna be a weiner fer shoore with this kinda quality input here I tell ya......

Well, you're gonna' hate this...

I only have one toggle switch at lower right..fuel valve. (It's further left in the VC panel, but still only one toggle).

When this switch is on (default to operate..I didn't start up in this A/C, I switched from a 206) the gauge in question stays at 100% and she don't-a move. BUT....when I turn off the fuel valve switch, the rpm, whiny sounds, and the needle itself take a predictable dive. The gauge needle swings eventually to zip...in a couple of seconds. If at anytime you turn the valve switch on again...it climbs back to 100% and stays there. So, the needle ain't really unanimated...just stuck at 100% when fuel valve switch is "on".

I haven't diddled with any files yet, 'cause I'm, well....a "Fr8ycat"!

OK. Good stuff. Nothing to hate, good description and there is more than one gauge file that slipped by is what it looks like. Will let The Man verify this.

Having received the VN incense, looks like you're due a package of cookies for this one. Oreos or Chips Ahoy?

Re: yer PM. No, I only have one toggle switch at panel bottom, not that whole row...so very possibly I have some boogered stock switchs in my program. Not that I notice in the aircraft I fly the most. Maybe I hammered something on another add-on in the past. I don't have that row of toggles on either my 2D or VC panels.

OK. I should probably wait for fr8ycat's input here but I'll go out on a limb and suggest that those toggles that don't show for you are comprised of what do appear to be stock switches provided in default planes - so if you're missing the whole row that would mean these entries aren't getting picked up:

gauge28=Kingair!Land_Light, 153,276,26
gauge23=Kingair!Taxi_Light, 201,277,22,31
gauge20=Kingair!Nav_Light, 244,278,24,30
gauge22=Kingair!Strobe_Light, 322,274,21,30
gauge12=Bell_206B!Avionics Display Toggle, 85,43,15,15

Again, we'll see what fr8ycat sez but if this is the case it shoudn't hurt to include any stock items just to be on the safe side, especially if it fixes your problem - my two cents.

Anyone else have missing items? Perhaps a screenie of the correct panel layout to look for is called for here....

OK duplicated your problem and your messed up file is for the King Air, which I don't think you fly much eh? Eliminating it gets rid of all my toggle switches savethe one that you do have, so that's it.

I can't quite duplicate the slow RPM gauge issue but got an update from fr8ycat that may explain it. In progress!
