Sorry its taken me a long time to get around to this... Had a family emergency a few weeks back, plus been really distracted by work & other things... Slowly getting back to normal, although my final semester of grad school starts up next week...
Anyway, here's some of the pictures I took inside the Saumur Musée des Blindés.
I'll actually go room by room.... You start off in the Salle "Première Guerre Mondiale" right at the entrance, with the Schneider & St Chamond that used to be at Aberdeen...
There's also an FT-17TSF (command tank) chassis tucked away in the corner on a flatbed truck...

To close out the German room - unfortunately some of these came out a bit washed out due to the lighting conditions... Lesson learned, when in doubt use the tripod...

Renault ACG-1 (only surviving example - was a range target)
The roadwheels and a great part of the track links on the right side are missing on that tank, but you can't see it from this view. Also, there was a big hole in the righ side of the hull and that was replaced by steel sheets, only for that tank to be restored more or less cosmetically.

Okay, befored getting to the Allied WWII vehicles, you first go through the very small Salle Italienne, the Salle Curiosités and then the Salle Pacte de Varsovie...
So first off the two Italian AFVs...
M15/42 tank
Semovente da 75-18 su M41
ELC bis from the room of curiosities... (also has an M3 made to look like an SPW and an M24 Chaffee made to look like a Panther if anyone really wants to see those)
And the Warsaw Pact vehicles (also had a BMP-1, BRDM-2, BTR-70, BTR-152, MT-LB, OT-64, PT-76, RM-70T and an SPR-1 if anyone really wants to see those)
T-54
T-62
Type 69 (sign said T-54/55)
T-72 trainer (the runner was at the carousel)
Yugoslav BOV-3 recovered from Bosnia
Next the allied WWII vehicles...

Now the Salle Les Alliés (Seconde Guerre Mondiale)...
Sort of trying to go chronologically...
Vickers Mk VIB - with the original data plate on the hull!
Matilda II
Valentine
Churchill with some battle(?) damage
Centaur
Crusader AA
Comet
M4(75) Sherman - what model?
M5A1 Stuart
Sexton
Staghound - even found what appears to be the Ordnance catalogue number (G135) and possibly an SN on the lower front hull
(Don can you check the LST building Staghound to see if it has a similar stamp?)
KV-1 & SU-100 diorama

M4(75) Sherman - what model?
Seems to be an M4(75) because of the cut on the low area of the rear vertical plate.

KV-1 & SU-100 diorama
SU-100M from the Egyptian army captured by the French troops in Port-Saïd (Egypt) in November 1956. Three other ones were captured by the British troops and are now in Aberdeen, Bovington and Duxford museums.
