Danish M113 with nice funny camo
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Too much pickled herring and dark flatbread for those guys. Something must have 'gone off' as my grandmother would have said.

It's add-on armour. I read an article which talked about improving the armour protection of the Danish M113 to be capable of defeating 25 mm APCR, but I'm not completely sure if this is the armour they were referring to.

You can find some more photographs of the add-on armour at www.howitzer.dk/vehicl...fvm113.htm

Modern equivalent of "Schürzen". Thin plates of corrugated steel with little holes in it, designed to catch and tumble smaller caliber rounds. At least that is what I've been told.

You can get a closer look here (warning: large picture!)
