Pontoon bridges, need construction specs.
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Pontoon bridges, need construction specs.

I am thinking of building a WWII pontoon bridge. I am comming up with every kind of pontoon bridge that was ever made except the WWII US type, I even ran across a video of how to build a US civil war example.

Any source of drawings or pictures of how these were made will be appreciated. Extreme detail is not necessary, as I tend to cheat and fake it (when building models) if good info isn't available.

Come to think about it.......I tend to cheat and fake it about everything! Please help me find some good info.

Thanks.

Gentlemen!!!! I thank you for the incredible amount of reference material you have supplied. Why didn't I run across any of that stuff when I was Googling and searching under ever combination of titles I could think of?

The Italian site is "Jake" as we used to say, and I would like to add "Hubba Hubba Kilroy".

I am very impressed with the knowledge youse guys have and your willingness to share it.

Many thanks.
