Hi Andreas,

you have a very good point there! The chief mechanic didn't think it was the same vehicle, but he has not been involved in the restoration, joining the Crompton Collection in 2008 I think. The most recent project he and his team did and that is shown in public was the Collection's SdKfz. 7 cargo.

I'll see if I can get some more information.

Well, I got some more information.

It seems that Bruce Crompton bought his Hetzer as a complete but somewhat badly restored vehicle in Germany about 10 years ago. It may not have been in running condition then, and it did have a problem with the gearbox. Once back in the UK mr Crompton had his restoration guy at the time get it into running condition, but it had a large amount of work done to it since by the current restoration team just to keep it going, and it needs a complete strip down and rebuild really.

So while it may indeed be possible that the Hetzer in the 1980's pics in the link posted before is the same vehicle, it will need more research to confirm it 100%.
