While putting the finishing touches on my M41 project, I came across some interesting pics of Kentucky Army National Guard M41's and M47's. The pics show them during some of the school desegregation problems in 1956.

If possible, I'm trying to find out what company of the 240th Tank Bn the M41's would have been attached to. One pic of a M47 shows the bumper code as viewed from the front being 240 "triangle" A-5. I've only been able to find a M41 pics with the 240 "triangle" marking. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I was looking at the history of the Ky Nat'l Guard at OWENSBORO and it says "1955 to 1959, Company A of the 240th Tank Battalion (120mm sp) was stationed there." Could they have had M103 tanks?

Mark,
Thanks for the Owensboro link. I went to the KYANG site and found a PDF about the 240th's deployment during the desegregation crisis. Although it only showed 1 tank pic, it did say that companies A, B, C, and HHC were deployed. Maybe Co's A-C were the heavy companies while the M41's were in a recon platoon of HHC?

I was just surprised that maybe the National Guard had M103's.

The M41s were more than likely from the recon plt. in HHC.
