Thanks to the efforts of my buddies Keith Ross and John Charvat, a examination of the vehicle found a "6" stamped into the front hull. This makes it the second of the two vehicles built as T195E1s. The first four were built as T195s and later converted to T195E1s.

I've been able to establish the numerology of the first four vehicles:
SN 1 - 4 RN 12J579 - 12J582
And an idea on the last two
SN 5 RN 12P406 or 12P408?
SN 6 RN 12P407?

I've collected at least one photo of each, but am always looking for more if anyone has any.

Bear in mind that the first four vehicles were modified once or twice each, so it is possible to see these vehicles with a gas engine and trailing idler, a gas engine and raised idler, or the diesel engine set-up.

Some ID points:
T195
Gas engine with circular fan in the center of the deck
Combined front lift and tow lugs (except SN 1)
A trailing idler means it is a T195
Headlights on top of hull at front

T195 converted to T195E1
Right front diesel engine deck has a small vertical grill
Headlights on front of hull will wire guards

T195E1 (new construction)
Right front diesel engine deck is plain
Front lift and tow lugs are separate
Headlights on turret (SN 6) or absent (SN 5)

Yes. There were four [correction: two ] T195E1s made. The one in Hampton is SN 5. I think this would one would be SN 7.

As going true the pictures off our museum pieces, something strange came up.
It seems that our M108 has a dataplate witch identifies it as a T195E1 SN 386
see www.afvregister.org/Ph...AfvID=4512
for the picture. Maybe M108 was accepted after delivery of the first batch of vehicles?

I guess I should've said "There were two T195E1 pilots made." Production started in October 1962 and the vehicle was standardized July 1963, so data plates for those interim vehicles would say T195E1.
