#172: Re: Sofia. National museum of military history Author: Pzkpfw-e, Posted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 9:52 am ---- Nordenfeldt?
#173: Re: Sofia. National museum of military history Author: Massimo_Foti, Location: Lugano, SwitzerlandPosted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:07 am ---- I am thinking about Nordenfeldt too, but I would like to identify the exact model.

#174: Re: Sofia. National museum of military history Author: CharlieC, Posted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:10 am ---- I think the machine gun thingy is a 5-barrel 0.45" Nordenfelt machine gun
from the 1880s - the action is that it fired a volley of rounds rather than continuous fire. Much more on these guns at www.victorianshipmodels.com/.

#176: Re: Sofia. National museum of military history Author: Pzkpfw-e, Posted: Sat Mar 22, 2014 11:59 am ---- 5 barrels & looks quite small calibre, certainly not 1" calibre.
I'd go for the Mk II 5-barrel Nordenfelt, myself. .45" calibre.
Looks like a 4-barrel, 1" version next to it.

#178: Re: Sofia. National museum of military history Author: Costas_TT, Posted: Wed Mar 26, 2014 1:06 pm ---- Krupp 9cm C73, by the look of it, although the shield is unusual. The bolt-on reinforcing strips on the cradle and the handwheel were the clues.
#179: Re: Sofia. National museum of military history Author: Massimo_Foti, Location: Lugano, SwitzerlandPosted: Wed Mar 26, 2014 1:18 pm ---- I recognized that late 19th century "Krupp" feeling. But the shield is something I've never seen before.
