#1: Ehrhardt gun at MCRD San Diego Author: CharlieC, Posted: Wed Oct 23, 2013 12:00 am ---- The attached turned up on the Landships forum. It's a 76.2mm Ehrhardt gun (similar to the British QF 15 Pounder Mark I) at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. It's documented as being captured in Nicaragua in 1912.
I know that the British and Norwegians bought Ehrhardt guns around 1900-1902 and have seen comments that the US did likewise. Anyone know how many Ehrhardt guns the US bought?
The Ehrhardt gun had a major influence on field gun design in the US - the 75mm M1902 and the 3 inch Mark VII Landing Gun were clearly influenced by the Ehrhardt design.
