I'm looking for information on coastal defense installations possessed by Spain during their war with the USA back in 1898.

I belong to the CDSG, and haven't found out anything much from them except for Barcelona. Interent searching turns up the mention of Krupp "10 inch" guns mounted at Cadiz in the 1900s, but nothing on the Spanish American War. (There were modern era (concrete fortifications there, but no details.)

Specifically, I'm looking for information on Cadiz, as well as more on Ponce and the Canary Islands than I've found to date.

Information sought is:

Caliber, manufacturer, numbers and date of installation of guns

Type of emplacement (temporary, like in the Canary Islands, or permanent like in the mainland and Cuban installations)

Provision of, type and numbers and locations of submarine mines

Provision of, type, caliber and numbers and locations of shore mounted torpedo tubes.

Please reply here, or by email to sensha@earthlink.net. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.
