Hi all

don't really know much more about this than the title '"Gun Trucks der US Army im Irak-Tankograd 3002" and that it has 60 + pages here is a picture of the cover

But thought some of the group might be interested.

My favourite Iraq gun truck was a derelict M113 bolted to the frame of a 2-axle tractor truck. It was reported to have been built in Kuwait from prepositioned stocks. Saw the story once, and never again.

My favourite Iraq gun truck was a derelict M113 bolted to the frame of a 2-axle tractor truck. It was reported to have been built in Kuwait from prepositioned stocks. Saw the story once, and never again.

Highly recommended, I have it in my library, there is also a new one out dedicated exclusively to Armoured HEMTTs.

The M113/M8something combo was the so-called "Alabama Slammer", which got nixed by the brass, IIRC- they never completed it AFAIK, I've got the photos as well, and it was a 6x6, not a 4x4.

Gotta admit, that is one cool looking Gun Truck! (Just ignore the gaping hole in the glacis plate where the truck firewall fits.)
