Post subject: Wow....

Stumbled on this on "Youtube". This is like a window in time. Be sure and read the extended explanation of the video. It's so austere a set, but that's the charm...you could have wandered into a club (or church) of maybe 150-200 people in 1968 and gotten this sound. What's incredible is this is the same group that did "Time Has Come Today" (talk about different!). This version is WAY better than even The Impressions', which was The Hit.

If you don't feel something listening to this, there is something wrong with you. Wink

Won't be able to watch it until I get home today but found it interesting that the song you mention above ("Time Has Come Today") is on a CD in my car that I've been listening to all week. Along with some other tunes like "Hot Smoke and Sassafrass" and "Pictures of Matchstick Men").

Well you won't see a lot of sets with the drummer and two guitarists on a forklift. Wink

Wow....indeed! Finally got to check that out. Also DIG the vid the have of "Time has come today" too and yep it sure shows how versatile they were.

Not to hijack this thread into 60's psychedelia but I found the below vid really enjoyable....it's David Fore of Bubble Puppy, going at it modern-day style years later with the practice pads....talk about a guy who's kept his chops! And so cool to see him groovin' away....I don't care who ya are, this rocks!!

Now I don't feel too embarassed about all the time down in the basement plugged in to my amp and playing along to my old Del Quads tapes.....even if nobody heard of'em....
