Post subject: Can't start FSX\Gold I goofed!

I attepted to install a trial version of FSForce today for my MSSWFF2 stick. I have had this software before running perfectly on Fs9 But decided to test it in FSX\Gold and win7.

I made a stupid mistake,forgetting the software is only active in the KSEA area In Seattle Washington. I started my sim default and forgot this and when I realized that the software wasn’t working proceeded to uninstall. It has it’s own uninstaller under the program under start. So I didn’t have to delete anything.

...But!? Here's the problem now...My FSX.exe got ruined and the sim won’t start. The opening screen is all I get and three scenery.cfg error messages from the scenery included in the wilco Citation X which I just click ok to go to the next step. Then I wait until I get a “ FATAL ERROR WHILE LOADING FSX MESSAGE” At the bottom right of the screen. there I click “ok” as well and then the simm.or opening screen dissapears.

I have a complete copy of a working FSX installation from a aprevious date on an external hard drive...From here I coppied the FSX.exe to my existing FSX installation on my computer on my C:\
Unfortunately this didn’t work either.

I fear a complete reinstall or a repair which would give the same results.I blame myself completely for this stupid mistake, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

- FSFORCE
SimConnect Log file

If you are experiencing problems using FS Force, you may be asked by technical support to provide a copy of your SimConnect log file to help diagnose the problem. This log file is not produced by default. Follow these steps to configure your system to produce a SimConnect log file.

Locate your SimConnect.ini file. Under Windows XP, this file is can be found in "My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files" . Under Windows Vista, it can be found in "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files" . If you do not have this file, go to step 3.

Open SimConnect.ini in your text editor of choice, and look for a line that says file=c:\<path>\simconnect.log. Make sure the line does NOT start with a semi-colon (;), then edit the path to point to a folder that's convenient for you.

If you do not have a SimConnect.ini file, create one in the appropriate folder (see step 1) using any text editor and enter the following lines :

[SimConnect]
level=verbose
console=0
file=c:\simconnect.log

Edit the "file= ... " line to point to a folder that is convenient for you.

Start FSX and do whatever you need to do to reproduce the errors you are experiencing. As soon as the error has occurred, shut down FSX and send the SimConnect.log file to the support email address above.

The full support page can be found HERE!

Good luck and let us know how it's comes out... Wink
