Boontybox is the download installer that Ubisoft has decided to use for the Pe-2 addon. It can be removed after the install as many have concerns regarding spyware properties. There is no CD available at this time...just internet downloads. Also there have been many complaints of problems with the install and numerus fixes are out there. Very messy Laughing
As the 4.05 paid addon only adds the Pe-2 bomber, skins and missions it has not as yet been accepted on the Hyperlobby major dogfight servers. There are ways around boontybox and to have the ability to have both 4.04 and 4.05 switchable.

If you are seriously considering adding it, you may want to pm me or Bush for more info. Bush also has all the info.

I also have a link for ya if needed Combat, its great and gives you a step by step with Pics for easy trouble free install.

Currently WoP servers are 4.05m, which you will need for 4.06m when it's finished.

I think this was an effort to make a few bucks, and add some spyware (BoontyBox) with the bait being some crappy little bomber no one cares about. The BoontyBox people can be located at www.boonty.net/. I'm not sure what they actually do, but I doubt they're doing it for free.

"Boonty is a global leader in the downloadable games business. Boonty unites leading game publishers of serious and casual games interested in expanding their markets with leading online ISPs, Portals and e-tailers focused on increasing profits by offering quality content and value added services."

Heheh Know how ya feel.
I busted 13 cticks in CFS1 all told.
Most were buttons, trigger, etc. but once, during a EURO wingman competition, when I was just zeroing in on my final kill, the stick actually came away in me hand.
Every one was replaced under shop warranty, although heated discussion was necessary (M$ warranty in U.K. requires the supplier to replace the product which makes the process a little longer than in the U.S.).
When they got replaced, I used ta name each new one after its "first blood".
The one I got now is "Mo" (don't tell MoAce though, hehehe) which has been in one piece and going strong for over 2 years.
I've also had; "Gorilla", "Boon", "Sweep", and "X" (+Exemplo, lolol), to name the few I can remember.

haha! Love that you name the sticks Shades.

Well check this out. When they discontinued the MS Sidewinder FF2 I bought a few of them...

One still going strong on my kids PC. And to celebrate the new rig I just got I broke a brand new one out of the box last night. In my opinion the best joystick I ever used. And the most durable!

Ditto.
I tried Saitek and Logitech but FF2 was the best for me and CFS1.
Ironic that when M$ do something right, they scrap it.
lolol

[edit: Ooooh! And "Vines". Can't forget ole Viney now, can I? ;)]

Post subject: Re: What's the deal with 4.05m?

I got an X52 for my birthday and it's only given me one problem. I havent named it yet (or at all...) but its taken a hell of a beating. Because when I got it I started practicing to dogfight my squad leaders. My old joystick a Logitech Wingman Force Feedback barley moved before it reached it's full range of movment. So anything less then a tap put me in a hopless spin. The other bad part if you look at a picture of it is you will see that the only resistence you get is from a this peice of rubber. Anyways so now my squad leaders are AWOL with the columbo clan and I havent played them since I got it...What a shame Sad
